Electricity and ElectronicsCarrigan Career Center Electricity and Electronics I and II offers: • The hands-on training • Skills in the design, integration, installation • Maintenance of electrical systems • This career field can lead to exciting jobs in robotics and automation or engineering. • Students learn fundamentals of electronic assembly, including use and care of tools, hardware and components. • They develop industrial level skills in connecting and soldering electronic components, safety practices and workmanship standards. The course is open to students in grades 11 - 12.

  3. What you get… • 3 College Credits through VRC • OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certification • Certification in Electronics through Gibson • Opportunity to join the Electrical Union • Gain problem solving skills • Learn to troubleshoot circuits • Understand Electrical and Mechanical Systems

  4. Electricity and ElectronicsCarrigan Career Center • Electricity and Electronics include many areas of specialty • Students work in many aspects of the electrical field. • The hourly wage varies from $9 - $45 per hour.

  6. Expectations • Be on time to class. See Mrs. Lunn if you are late. • Bring all required items to class. 2 pencils, a notebook, a 3 ring- binder to keep all lab work • Follow all rules. Simple, use the Golden Rule • Be respectful of others and their things

  7. Expectations • Place all items in their place. • Work Place Etiquette • No talking when someone else is talking. • Be Safe at all times • No food or drink unless directed to do so. • Be a professional at all times

Responsibility Being in this class is like being on the job • There is one person in charge • Be professional – Behavior, Dress and Attitude, always ready to work • No cell phones in class, WFISD policy charges $15 for confiscated phones • Keep them in car or your locker. • Put it back and lock it up.

  10. Responsibility • Share creative ideas • Complete all assigned work • Record all great ideas on paper • Mentor others to help them be successful • Be on time • Solve problems • Ask for help • Follow all safety rules.

  16. Communities Projects Habitat For Humanity Students use skills taught in class to understand how the “Carrigan House” is wired. Sheds are built for the Community – We help them see the light.
