  4. Theme Question: How do weather and seasons affect our lives? • We are going to read poems about the moon at different times of the year. • What are the different phases of the moon? Discuss the Theme

  5. Shadows are the dark shapes that objects make when light is behind them. Example: Keila’s shadow was smaller than her mother’s shadow. Ask: If you are walking in the daytime, does your shadow move or stay in the same place? • Hidden means “kept out of sight.” Example: Shehad hidden the gifts from the children. Ask: If something is hidden, is it easy or difficult to see? Introduce Vocabulary

  6. What do you know about poems? • They are often written in short lines that aren’t always sentences. • They create pictures in readers’ minds. • They may have rhyming words. When I read today, I want to find out what happens during full moons and how nature changes throughout the year. Prepare to Read
