  10. A Fable Characteristics of a Fable A good fable… • Is a story that is made up. • Has characters that are animals or plants that talk and act like humans. • Has a beginning, middle, and end. • Has a lesson that is stated at the end.

  11. Prewrite Beginning Porcupine and Peacock are in the pet store. They are waiting for customers to arrive. Middle A girl comes into the store. She looks at the animals. She is deciding which animal she would like as a pet. End The girl chooses Porcupine as a pet. Who you are inside is more important than how you look.
