  1. Because it’s one of our community’s only historic landmarks, build circa 1940. • Because it’s the only dairy barn inside the beltway, close to our Nation’s Capitol! • Because people care about the barn – • 340+ people have signed our petition! • Because Pimmit Hills deserves a Community gathering space! Why Save Historic Pimmit Barn?

  2. Views of the Experts • CHARLES LEIK, President of the National Barn Alliance says “we can afford to preserve our heritage.” • Virginia’s DEPARTMENT OF HISTORIC RESOURCES says: “Virginia communities are using preservation approaches to build civic pride, revitalize downtowns, spur economic development, generate tourism, and educate residents and children about their local heritage.”

  3. A Piece of History J Clemons Storm, had a very large dairy barn, approx 400 acres. The entire area was primarily dairy farms as Fairfax County was the principal supplier of milk for Washington. There was a barn on the land… That was the construction site where we went to use the telephone. Everything was cut to size at the barn, and then delivered to the home site where it was nailed together.

  4. PimmitHillian Born and Raised!! Save the barn!!! –Tina Jones This is a worthy structure to try to preserve. –John Sitnik With all of the modernization and growth in Fairfax County, let's preserve some of our history! –Kathleen Klimenko The barn is such a wonderful, unusual feature of our neighbourhood, I really don't want to see it go. –Kathryn Pasternak The Voices of the Community The Fairfax County Park Authority should be maintaining neighborhood park land, not destroying it and losing it. This is the property of the people. –Elizabeth Visser I love this barn -- it has historical significance in our neighborhood, county, and in the entire metro area. –Tom Gillespie My family has owned a house in Pimmit Hills since 1955, please save the barn. –Steven Earl Parker I hope we can preserve the barn for our children. My 3 year old is fascinated by it and I look forward to teaching him and his younger brother more about it. –Jed Fonner I have been a resident of Pimmit Hills for 52 years, living in the same house for that time. It would be a disaster for this landmark to be destroyed. This barn represents an era long past but gives us a glimpse of what it must have been like to live here then during this period. –Frank Snider Surely we can develop the greater Tyson's area without erasing signs of the past. –Sarah Clark

  5. The family farm is disappearing too fast. Keeping the barn will remind children and adults that their food does not come directly from the food store. –Susan Johnston A Parcel of Vast Potential What a great place for a park, with… historical information posted in the barn. -Anonymous Beautiful piece of history. First thing I noticed when we moved to the neighborhood. Still in very good condition, . . . it can be used for future neighborhood uses. –Anne Kopec Please keep this property and consider restoring it. It could be a tourist attraction, and if a nominal fee is charged, the revenues could offset the cost of restoring it and contribute to the treasury over time. -Tara Schoepke It would be great for Pimmit Hills agricultural use like community gardens! –Sebastien Jensen This barn is vital to supporting our McLean youth sports programs. –Stephen F. Jessey
