  3. Mercury • Mercury is 27 million miles from the sun. • It has a lot of craters. • It is the second smallest planet.

  4. Venus • Venus is 67.2 (108.2 km.) million miles from the sun. • It is the hottest planet. • It is called the morning star or the evening star.

  5. Earth • Earth is 93 (149.6 km.) million miles from the sun. • The period of revolution around the sun is 365.26 days. • The Earth takes 24 hours to rotate around the sun.

  6. Mars • Mars is 141.6(227.9 km.)million miles from the sun. • It is called the red planet. • It has a very large volcano on it.

  7. Jupiter • Jupiter is 483.6 (778.3 km.)million miles from the sun. • It is the largest planet. • It is made of gas.
