About SATIM • The SATIM company was established as a spin-off company at the University of Science and Technology in Cracow in 2012. • Ourgoalistwo-fold: • To developnewmethodsof satellite EO data processing and analysis • To introduce the satellite EO potentialto the market
Areas of Interest • Research & Development • We arecontinouslyworking on developing new data processing and analysing • methodsdedicated for: • SAR radar interferometry • SAR radar polarimetry • Ourworkalsofocuses on • Developing newapplicationsfor satellite and air-borne SAR data
Areas of Interest • Applications • We apply the satelliteremotesensing data (both radar and optical) for different • environmentalapplications: • Natural hazards monitoring (e.g. movements of the Earth’scrust, landslides, sinkholes, floods) • Monitoring of Earth’ssurface in miningapplications(e.g. postminingdeformations, impact of the coalmines on the environment) • Monitoring of the infrastructure(e.g. stability of buildings and constructions, roadsdeformations, urban monitoring) • Environmentalstudies(e.g. assessment of land coverchangesorbiomass)
Our experience • As a scientists and enterpreneurs we havegatheredexperience in a number of • scientific and commercial projects on a national and international levels. • Some of ourprevious and currentprojectsinclude: • Patternrecognition-baseddecomposition for quad-polarimetric SAR data, financed by ESA under the PECS programme, • Earth Observation for Monitoring and Assessment of the EnvironmentalImpact of EnergyUse (EnerGEO), co-funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the EuropeanCommission, • Improving scene analysis from Multiple SAR images acquisitions, financed by EADS Astrium
Our experience • We also took part in a few courses organized by ESA: • ESA Advanced Training Course on Land Remote Sensing, 2011, Krakow • ESAAdvanced Course on Radar Polarimetry, 2011, Frascati (Italy) • ESA Radar Remote Sensing Course, 2010, Warsaw
SATIM in IAP • We have experience in cooperating with ESA, but not within the IAP programme. • As a specialists in one particular field (Earth Observation) we are open forcooperation with companies specialising in other space applications (e.g. satellite navigation, communications, etc.) to take part in ESA’s IAP programme.
