  3. Participation • The last three meetings have had a average attendance of 17 individuals representing 20 different companies. • Contributions have been provided which drive discussion

  4. Evaluation Process • A 3 step technology evaluation method was adopted • Step 1 respond to seven questions about the technology • Step 2 discussion in the ETSC to determine move forward with new work or further discussion necessary. (Possible formation of a subgroup) • Step 3 recommend to the TC for work to be 1) remanded to an existing Committee (and then the Committee can decide where that work goes), or to 2) create a new Committee

  5. Evaluation Process • Seven Questions: • What is the candidate technology? • What industry does this technology impact? • What aspect of this technology needs standardization? • Who are the TIA member companies or potential companies that support this technology? • Are there any associations/organizations that work in this area? • Do those associations make standards in this technology area? • Does the expertise for standardizing this technology already exist in the TIA community?

  6. Contributions • Intelligent Oblique Imagery technology brought by a new TIA member Pictometry International for discussion and possible standardization • Smart Utilities Network technology brought by MJL consultants on behalf of Silver Spring Networks • New Encryption technologies for standardization brought by new TIA company CEBA Tech.

  7. Results • CEBAtech technology is recommended to be assigned to TR30 for standardization work (TR-30.1 most suitable). • Proposal for new Engineering Committee on SUN before the TC at the Oct. meeting • Formed a subgroup to develop proposition paper for Cloud Computing, • Oblique Imagery technology still under review by ETSC
