  1. Jelly Bean Practical By Mia, Olivia & Tarsha

  2. AIM To see how long it takes for the jelly beans to dissolve in different types of liquid.

  3. APPARATUS Jelly beans, 100ml lemonade, 100ml apple juice, 100ml vinegar, beaker, bunsen burner, 3 timers.

  4. HYPOTHESIS I think that the jelly beans in the vinegar will dissolve the quickest.

  5. RISK ASSESMENT Be careful not to burn your self on the hot beaker, or liquid that’s in the beaker. Be careful not to get vinegar in your eyes because it will burn and sting.

  6. METHOD 1.Boil the lemonade, vinegar and apple juice in separate beakers, over 3 separate Bunsen burners. 2.Put two jelly beans in each beaker. 3.Use your timers to record how long it takes for the jelly beans to dissolve. CONTROL: Use the same amount of liquid in each beaker.

  7. OUR RESULT TABLE

  8. CONCLUSION In conclusion the jelly beans in the vinegar dissolved much quicker. My hypothesis was correct. You could improve the experiment by only using one jelly bean in each beaker because the second jelly bean always took more time to dissolve.
