Outdoor Sign Considerations • Be sure to be aware of your city ordinances that govern and limit sign size, type and location and sometimes color for your area. • Regulations are based on the type of area the sign is located in (commercial, residential, etc.) • Permits are almost always required. Your local sign companies are experts on sign ordinances and the permitting process.
Barry Vennard Advises: • Find a reputable sign company • Get references • Sign company will checking the zoning and permits needed • Allow the sign company to guide you in the design and implementation of your sign • Possible Permit types needed: Building permit, structural permits, electrical permits and possible variance permits

Indoor Signs • 3. Placement of signs Make sure they are not too high to read (for shorter adults or children), or placed too low that they are not visible
Indoor Signs • 4. Ensure the color and design are clear, understandable and inviting
Indoor Signs • 5. Proof from outside your perspective Be sure not to use jargon like “YOU” or “YFM” “WOU” “MOU” etc. Proof by someone not familiar with your ministry.
