  20. State Child Development Board  Objective : Ensuring all round development of children of Uttaranchal Established in 2005 with Hon. Minister of State, DWECD, as Chairperson, one Executive Chairperson, 02 Vice Chairpersons and members  Apart from other functions, finalization of State plan of action for children is an important function of the Board DWECD-March 2005

UDISHA ►Induction & Job training module developed for AWWs ► 72 Departmental officers trained trained as Mastertrainers ► Induction training of 1497 AWWs in 45 new Projects completed ► Selection of 18 AWTCs and 01 MLTC for clearing job training backlog of AWWs, Supervisors & Trainers of AWTCs ► 5766 AWWs and 5235 AWHs completed job training. ► 65 CDPOS & 193 Supervisors completed refresher training ► Comuter training completed for DPO & one clerk from all districts ► Good Parenting camps organised at AWCs DWECD-March 2005

State Initiatives •The state has already reduced the number of reporting formats for AWWs from 14 to 07 ─Pre-printed registers are being provided to AWWs ─ Record of each child is being maintained on a single page the hreby ensuring better beneficiary tracking & substantial reduction on immunisation dropout rate • Analysis of MPRs was undertaken by an independent consulting agency in 2002-03. this has lead to identification & reduction in data inconsistencies. • Modalities of computerized MIS system are being worked out. Uttaranchal State Council for Child welfare•Established on 1st August 2003 with HE Governor as Chairperson.• Administrative Grant has been provided to SCCW by the Department.• In Uttaranchal day celebrations SCCW organizes Baby shows at district levels in coordination with ICDS, Health & Social Welfare Department. • Pre School kits have been provided by ICDS to Crèches run by SCCW. • Evaluation of Haridwar Pilot Project has been done by SCCW• Main activities of SCCW includes organization of youth week, social Harmony Meetings, painting competitions, Baby show, Health & Melas games activities in Uttaranchal day celebrations etc. DWECD-March 2005

Indira Mahila Samekit Vikas Yojana Conceived to be a nursery for experimenting with ideas about meeting the special needs of mountain women, exploiting the strengths of mountain women, and devising suitable schemes which would benefit women, particularly schemes that enable women to participate more fully in all aspects of human endeavour. Proposals have been invited through advertisement in newspapers/magazines. Uttaranchal State Women CommissionEstablished on 9 November 2003 as a watchdog of women’s rights, to stop all discriminations against them & raise their quality of life through their all round Empowerment  Period : 3 Years Minimum one representative from every district, to ensure widespread participation District consultations for State Women Policy are being organized by the Commission DWECD-March 2005

Awards 1- Chummi Devi , Anganwadi Worker of village Supara, Kirtinagar Project, District Tehri Garhwal has been awarded National Award for AWWs for 2001-02. 2- Twenty Two Anganwadi workers have been awarded state level award for 2003-04. 3- National Award to Children for Exceptional Achievement for 2003 has been given to Miss Shivani Gosain.
