  5. Variants • Model 1921: Adjustable rear sight, finned barrel, and a vertical fore grip. Used by both criminals and police officers. • Model 1923: Shoots at 440m/s, with greater range than previous models. Featured 14-inch barrel, a bipod, and a bayonet. • Model 1921AC: Upgraded version of the 1921 with less kickback. • M1A1: Standardized in October 1942, this version of the Thompson cost half as much and took half as much time to produce as previous models.
