  1. eNFCBringing new features for contactless mobile phone users experience creating a contactless world

  2. Applications • Pass the gate eNFC • Read a map from interactive billboard eNFC • Pay without cash • Redeem coupons • Get your Receipt eNFC 13/06/2005 • Get your e-ticket • Exchange photos

  3. Contactless for Mobile phone Convenient for user Easy integration Multi-standard Secured Contactless Reader Small footprint Contactless Card Low cost 13/06/2005

  4. What is eNFC ? • eNFC (enhanced NFC): Fully compliant NFC technology enhanced by ISO 14443B and ISO 15693 standards on chip emulation side • eNFC is compatible with all existing and future application using contactless technology Reader or Device Communication Chip emulation Communication NFC (ECMA340) ISO 14443-A ISO 14443-A NFC-2 (ECMA 352) Sony (Type C) Sony (Type C) eNFC ISO 14443-B ISO 14443-B ISO 15693 ISO 15693 13/06/2005

  5. Integration in mobiles Communication link between the SIM card and the RF Chip. SIM card RF antenna eNFC chip RF chip to communicate with eNFC = NFC + ISO B + ISO 15693 Communication link between the Application processor and the RF chip Application Processor (base band) 13/06/2005

  6. Where to use this technology Paris Transport : ISO 14443B Toronto Payment: ISO 14443-B & ISO 15693 London Transport : ISO 14443A Shenzen Transport : ISO 14443B Hong Kong Transport: FelicaTM San Francisco Transport: ISO 14443B Seoul Transport : ISO 14443A Tokyo Transport: FelicaTM US Access Control: ISO 15693 Japan ID Card: ISO 14443B Chiuaua Driving License: ISO 15693 New Dehli Transport:FelicaTM US Payment: ISO 14443-B & ISO 14443A Pakistan Passport: ISO 14443B Singapore Transport : Felica, ISO 14443B San Paulo Transport: ISO 14443A 13/06/2005

  7. What eNFC can bring ? • More open technology • Integration of ISO B and ISO 15693 as chip emulation • Use the phone all other the world • Operator / Mobile manufacturer / User doesn’t care about technology, they just want that it works everywhere … • Better user experience • User can use his phone in Paris or San Francisco with ISO B transport system. No need to get another card beside his NFC phone • Get better range for parking access control thanks to ISO 15693 with same security level than ISO 14443 • Use the eNFC phone to access building using ISO 15693 then perform e-purse in the company with ISO 14443 using Visa application 13/06/2005

  8. Real pilot for ISO 15693 • HID • Leader in contactless access control • Use iClass product which is based on ISO 15693 protocol • Pilot in progress • Integration of eNFC technology in a phone • Use the phone to enter the building using iCLASS emulation with a eNFC chip • Then use ISO B to perform payment in the company • Quote • “Our iCLASS infrastructure can be used with eNFC enabled phones. The user will not have to carry both an access control card and a phone because eNFC in as open technology to all of the standards” Michael DAVIS, Director of Technology 13/06/2005

  9. Real pilot for ISO 14443-B • Xxxx (NDA in progress) • Transport application • Use ISO A/B hardware capable readers but the application only select ISO 14443-B for performance reasons • Pilot in progress • Integration of eNFC technology in a phone • Use the phone to pass the gate with the transport application stored into a SIM card • Use the same phone to perform access control using ISO A • Quote • “Thanks to eNFC technology, we are able to operate our transport application without having to change all the infrastructure of the readers which are already installed. This technology really ease the integration and saves cost” Xxxx (NDA in progress) 13/06/2005
