  4. Rivals • The Flyers biggest rival are the New York Rangers. The Rangers were one of the original teams.

  5. Winter Classic • The Winter Classic is an outdoor hockey game played on New Years Day (if no delays) The Flyers have played in it twice against the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins. They lost both times.

  6. How They Started • The Flyers joined the NHL in 1967. They wanted to join because they felt they should have a team if their state rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins had one. They were the first non-original team to win a cup.
