This training session, held in January 2013, focuses on enhancing evaluators' understanding of formative assessments within educational settings. Participants will explore the definition and purpose of formative assessments, distinguishing them from summative evaluations. The session emphasizes using evidence from observations and artifacts to inform assessments and improvement plans. Key topics include collaboration, respect for diverse perspectives, and practical steps for implementing formative assessments effectively. Additional resources and support are available through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
