  4. Select The Visual Medium (continued) Consider: • Equipment That Is Available • Your Budget • Your Technical Skills • Physical Setting For Presentation

  5. Design Guidelines For Visuals • Use Simple Graphics To Reinforce Text • Select Legible Fonts • Vary Typeface & Type Size Judiciously • Use Concise Phrases • Don’t use complete sentences

Design Guidelines For Visuals (continued) • Use A Consistent Graphic Theme • Colors, Spacing, Symbols • Use Legible Color Combinations • Include “White Space” • “Eye” breathing space for reader • Use Sounds, Transitions, & Animations Carefully • Shouldn’t distract from presentation • This presentation uses too many different sounds and transitions. It’s what shouldn’t be done

Design Guidelines For Visuals (continued) • Use 7 x 7 Rule (7 words per line; 7 lines per slide) • A guideline not a hard & fast rule • Use judgment & common sense • Include A Last Slide To Signal “The End” (or use black slide feature) • Use an appropriate graphic • Could be titled “Questions” • See next slide for an example Last Slide
