Summative Assessment: Stained glass project • Imagine you are an artisan in the Middle Ages in France and you have been commissioned to design a stained-glass window for a new Gothic cathedral. • Create a design that reflects the symbolism of the period and incorporates the colors and design elements popular at the time. • Write a brief paragraph (4-5 sentences) which explains your choice of design and what the significance of it will be to the people who attend church services there. • Standards: • Creates an artistic work that expresses the uniqueness of a historical period or cultural influence. • Identifies the ways the structure of an art or discipline mirrors the structure and values of society.
