Course Objectives • On successful completion of this unit students will be able to: • Critically evaluate and make sense of the theory and practice of management in 21st century organisation and its increasing interdependence on marketing and financial functions of the organisation. • Discuss and appraise a wide range of contemporary management theories and how they are applicable in a changing environment. • Evaluate alternative approaches to developing marketing strategy and its impact upon organisational performance. • Understand the typical framework and constituent roles of organisational accounting and finance functions and to be able to systematically select and implement a range of accounting and finance tools.

  3. Course Schedule Overview • Teaching starts:29/9/14 for 10 weeks • 2 hour lecture each week for management, marketing and finance. • Assignment hand - in 10th Nov. (50%) 2500 words • Exam Second Week of January 2015 (50%)

  4. Assignment Exam • Assignment is a scenario based analysis of a company where the student can analyse the management, marketing strategy and financial implications in a holistic manner for the organisation, so the inter-dependence and critical relationship between the three disciplines is clear. • The exam will test each of the three areas – management, marketing and finance.
