This report details the IPv6 and IPv4 benchmarking initiatives conducted with USM, UPM, NTU, and Temasek Polytechnic from 2001 to 2003. Funded under the Broadband 21 program, it discusses the challenges faced, including communication issues with the MWD implementation and the setup of modems. Notable projects include the QoS over Ku Band links, a GPS autonomous robot, and satellite internet solutions. A significant technical forum on "Satellite Rainfade" was held, showcasing student projects and fostering research collaboration.

IPv6 • 1 FreeBSD 4.3 & 1 FreeBSD 4.5 • Sg.ai3.net & sarima.ai3.net • IPv6/Ipv4 benchmarking with USM (TC. Wan, CW Tan, Chin Hooi)
NetMon & MWD • MRTG server running on NT4 webserver 202.249.25.104 & 202.249.25.105 • Live since August 2001 • Now implementing MWD (202.249.25.103) but some problem with the communications port ~ not responding to Hyperterminal.
DA-TDMA(final quarter) • Funded by under Broadband 21 programme. (partner: Dr Cheng Heng Seng, I2R) • Extended for 6 months. End august 2003 • Four nodes identified: USM, UPM, NTU and Temasek Poly. • Sukumar went over to USM, UPM to setup modems in May 2003.
Other Projects completed • NTU-TP (under Prof Ong Jin Tiong, NTU) QoS over Ku Band link. Fan Blower protptype built. • GPS autonomous Robot • IPv6 tunneling over IP4 for staff and students of Temasek Polytechnic. • Telemedical IP Sec on DA-TDMA infrastructure. (NTU-Poly) • QoS project over DA-TDMA (NTU-Poly)
Satellite RainFade • A Technical Forum on "Satellite Rainfade" was held in SICU on 5 Feb 2003 to the staff in the Temasek Engineering School. • The "Satellite Rainfade" project is a research collaboration between the NTU’s Prof JT Ong. The Forum was presented by the student project team: Zuraidah, Rasidah and Kartini as part of their their Final Year Project. Their NTU project supervisor Professor Ong Jin Teong was inivted to attend and answer some questions on the topic of Satellite Rainfade.

MCS • Commencment of MCSv5 tests with USM since Mar 2003. Doc Conferencing • Supporting Vidconf later for the Ipv6 workshop opening at USM.
Other Activities • APAN’s Satellite Internet WG • Presented ‘DA-TDMA’ at the recent SingAREN Symposium (14 March 2002) • Supporting subjects: Satellite Communications & RF Test and Measurements. • Bridging commencing soon (due to hardware failures & cables) • Then SARS came along.
