  2. What are pesticides? • Pesticides are a toxic spray to get rid of pests. • Control pests from eating crops and causing diseases

  3. What is the issue with pesticides? • Dangerous to be around once sprayed • Harmful to be in contact with freshly sprayed pesticides

  4. Disadvantages • Deadly chemicals • Do not stay in area where crops are growing • Will sink down to soil and effect upcoming blossoms.

  5. Advantages • Controls damaged food products • Keeps homes bug free • Help prevent diseases

  6. Where are the pesticides found? • Food, air, farmer markets, and schools • Mostly found in most cities

  7. Damages over the years • Pesticides have polluted air since their first “appearance” • Have damaged crops investments

  8. How do pesticides affect humans? • Sore throats • Some pesticides cause asthma if inhaled for a long time • Birth defects

  9. Animals effected by pesticides • Cause endangered species numbers to incline • Can make them have a secondary  poisoning • Damage food source for some animals

  10. Plants effected by pesticides • Some plants die from DDT • Plants could have a mutated cell like it were to have cancer

  11. Solutions • Plant organically • Try to use an alternative rather than spray a harmful spray into the environment • Buy organic products
