Think about the reality TV shows that you watch and answer these questions in your groups using the placemat. • Why are these shows so popular? • How are people controlled in the clips? • What is their motivation to participate? Record the three main points of your discussion in the central circle ready to share with the class.

  4. How are people controlled in our society? • In your groups consider how people are controlled in society. • Record your points on post it notes (2-3 points for each person). • Stick your post it notes on the board. As you stick them up try and put them in a category.
