  2. Introduction You are in the cold, snowy Arctic and suddenly you hear a big growling sound. It’s a giant polar bear! It starts to run towards you so you start running back.

Cool Cubs • A polar bear’s hollow oily hair on top of their soft fur help polar bears float. • A polar bear’s stomach stores more than 150 pounds of food in the winter. • Polar bears are mammals. • Polar bears have long necks and big feet to walk in the snow. • Mother polar bears teach their cubs to swim by the cubs hanging on their rear end with their teeth.

  4. Their Diet • Polar bears are hunters. • They often eat seals.

  5. A Polar Bear’s Habitat • Polar bears only live in the cold, snowy Arctic. • It is near the Arctic Ocean.

  6. Fun Facts • Polar bears have oily hairs on top of their fur. • Polar bears are four feet tall on four legs. • On two legs they’re eleven feet tall. • Polar bears weigh 5,000 pounds.
