Shri Vile Parle KelavaniMandal (SVKM) • Shri Vile Parle KelavaniMandal (SVKM) is a Public Charitable Trust registered under the Society’s Registration Act and Bombay Public Trust Act started was established in 1934 • Over the past 80 years, the Mandal today has grown into a big educational complex imparting high-level education to more than 40,000 students. • The Mandal has developed a large educational complex in Vile Parle, Mumbai • SVKM institutes are state of the art, with ever expanding facilities and infrastructure. • The Mandal has now grown into an educational foundation , promoting global thinking consistent with national interest and promoting the values, professionalism, social sensitivity and dynamic entrepreneurship.

NarseeMonjee Trust • Founder trustee’s – Shri ChatrabhujNarsee, Shri PratapNarsee & Shri DharamshiNarsee. • In 1959 perpetuating the sacred memory of their parents  and of serving the community and the locality ‘Shri NarseeMonjee and JamnabaiNarsee Public Charitable Trust’ was established. • To continue the noble tradition the founder trustee’s established ‘NarseeMonjee Educational Trust’ (NMET) in 1970 with specific thrust in the field of Education. • NMET was the main donor for NarseeMonjee college of Commerce and Economics (NM College) which was established in 1964 – one of the leading undergraduate colleges for management and commerce related courses run by Shri Vile Parle KelavaniMandal (SVKM). • In 1980 - NarseeMonjee Educational Trust decided to be the main donor for NarseeMonjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) – one of the leading management institutes for post-graduation in India run by Shri Vile Parle KelavaniMandal (SVKM).

SVKM’s NMIMS University • NarseeMonjee Institute of Management Studies started its journey in 1981 by offering a Masters Degree Program of Mumbai University with 4 faculties and 40 students. • In 2002-03, NMIMS was granted the Deemed-to-be-University status, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. • In 2003-04, NMIMS de-affiliated itself from the Mumbai University and redefined its identity with a new logo. • NMIMS was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Certification by ICL in 2004 and ranked 10th in the Asia Inc. B-School Survey (South Asia Region). • The University has over more than 430 faculty members currently.

  24. New Student Registration • A detailed process training is been given to counselor/ marketing staff . Also centre operational manual will have detailed process. • Payment Mode: • Payment can be done via 3 different modes • Online-Student will make the payment online via internet Banking/ Credit or Debit card. • Demand Draft-Student will prepare the Demand Draft in favour of “SVKM’s NMIMS” payable at Mumbai and submit the same to the Information Center. • Challan-Student will print the challan from the system and directly make the payment at the HDFC Bank by submitting the Demand Draft in favour of “SVKM’s NMIMS” payable at Mumbai and submit the Challan copy to the Information Center.

Re-registration • The Student will re-register online to the next semester by filling up the Re-registration form . • Student can pay the Re-registration fees by any of the option provided • Processing of the payment of fee remains the same • The student will take the print of the Re-registration form, payment advice and submit the same at the Information Center. • Once the Re-registration Fee is received by the University the status will be updated on student portal and a mail confirming the receipt of the payment will be forwarded to the candidate. • Student Kit will be forwarded to the Information Center for further distribution to the student.

Change of Program • Student will not be allowed to change the Program within the semesters • This change is allowed only once. • Student can request for change of Program only at the time of Re-registration • Diploma student can request for change of specialization only at the time of Re-registration to Semester II. • Post Graduate Diploma student can request for change in specialization only at the time of Re-registration to Semester II OR Semester III. • Program change is permitted only within the Program group selected by the student. • One year Diploma student can change program to any other one year Diploma program. • Two year Post Graduate Diploma student can change program to any other two year Post Graduate Diploma program. Student will have to pay the applicable Information Center change Fee which will be added in the Re-registration Fee.

  29. Extension of Validity of Registration

Extension of Validity of Registration • Students can extend the validity of their registration 1. 2 year Post Graduate Diploma student can extend only by 1 year 2. 1 year Diploma student can extend only by 6 months • Facility of Extension of Validity of Registration is not available for Certificate Program students. • Student can request for extension of validity of their registration by forwarding an application in the prescribed format along with the fee for the same to the Information Center. • Fee for extension of validity of the registration of the program will be the then existing 50% of the tuition fees applicable for the program. • Once the validity of registration period is extended a new ID card will be issued to the student with the updated validity period on it.

Examination: Weightage • Student has to score 50% on the aggregate of marks in the Internal Assignment and Term End Examinations taken together. • No individual cut-off/ passing. • If student fails: • - Student has to appear for the Term End Examination within the validity of the program. • The assignment marks in the related subject will be carried forwarded. • - Student is allowed for re-submission of assignment but also has to appear for the Term End Examination.

Result Declaration : Result will be declared within 4/6 weeks of completion of term end examination Issuance of Marksheet: • Student Marksheets are dispatched within 4 weeks from the declaration of results. • Marksheets are dispatched to Information Centre through NGA-SCE Learning Centre for further distribution to students. • Students are supposed to collect the marksheet from the respective Information Centre within the timeframe set by the University. (Format/guideline will be shared by HO) Issuance of Certificate: • Student needs to apply to the University for Issuance of Certificate on completion of program.
