Cave Paintings • They are paintings that were meant for religious meanings, but didn’t have a purpose other than that • They were started by the Magdalenian people around 40,000 years ago • They can be grouped into three main categories: animals, human figures, and abstract signs • The first cave paintings were found in France by children • Nearly 340 cave paintings have now been discovered in Spain and France since then

  3. Petroglyphs • Petroglyphs are carved rocks with symbols and pictures on them that where used to communicate 300 to 2,500 years ago • The first petroglyphs where found in the southwestern United States, but specifically central New Mexico • Petroglyphs were started by the Paleo-Indians

  4. Why They Were Important They were both important because they taught us how to learn to communicate better with other.
