Seychelles and Comoros • Located off the coasts of Tanzania and Madagascar in Indian Ocean • Seychelles = 115 islands • Most are uninhabited • Humid and tropical climate • Lush vegetation • Rocky and hilly islands leave little farmland (~ 18%) • Comoros = 3 islands • Nov.-Mar. = “wet” season • Monsoons, heavy rains, cyclones • Apr.-Oct. = dry season • Formed by volcanoes • Cultivate sugar cane, ylang-ylang (for perfume), vanilla, cloves, and tropical plants
