  5. Feedback 1) What was your primary reason for attending the event? Green and Clean Mom, SommerPoquette, attended BlogHer 2010 for networking and business opportunities and advancement; business obligations per contract to host the official BlogHer 2010 Green Party; professional development. 2) What is most appealing about BlogHer? It is the largest women’s blogging community with the greatest amount of brand interest. 3) What did you find most useful/applicable to your needs/business? Private dinners, lunches, coffee and appointments with colleagues, affiliates, business partners and potential business partners – we’re all in one location for a set time frame, which makes things very convenient and synergetic! 4) Given the number of brands/companies with a presence at the event, which stood out the most? Why? Those with knowledgeable staff who could engage in conversation and answer questions verses just being there to have a presence and look pretty. I spoke with many representatives not knowledgeable on all aspects of the company or who most likely will not follow up with me. Having a fun expo space is eye catching and engaging and leads me to remember the company verses just standing behind a table.

  6. Feedback Continued… 5) Did fellow attendees inquire about eC/your role as an Ambassador? Fellow colleagues in the green space have asked me questions about my role with eBay, specifics on the green team eBay has (which I am not a part of and would like to be) and the difference between other online classifieds sites verses eBay Classifieds. I feel I have to be very well versed to answer questions and represent the company. In addition I wore my shirt traveling home and ended up talking to people in the airport and in Ann Arbor, MI about eBay and eBay classifieds – which extended away from the blogosphere. 6) How would you suggest eBay Classifieds participate in future events? I would first have to ask, what does eBay Classifieds hope to accomplish in the future at these events? Supporting your brand ambassadors and furthering their professional development and connections for what they give you on conference calls, email feedback, private phone calls, posts, Twitter and Facebook promotion, etc. – it is a great investment. Wanting a larger presence for brand awareness would mean having a space at the expo, if you can afford it. Sponsoring smaller more intimate and targeted events could yield a high return; in conjunction with any of the above or alone.

  7. Mom blogs, as seen on the NBC Today Show, have become a business.
