  2. Walk or ride on the sidewalk and not in the street. • Sit down to ride your bike. • Only 1 person per bicycle/tricycle. • ALWAYS wear shoes if you are on a bicycle, scooter, or skateboard!!! TRANSPORTATION SAFETY

  3. Ride in the daytime, not at night. At night, it is hard to see someone on their bicycle, scooter, or skateboard. • Put reflectors on your bike. • Wear bright colored clothing. It is easier to be seen if you are wearing bright colored clothes. TRANSPORTATION SAFETY

  4. USE YOUR HEAD: WEAR A HELMET! • Always wear a helmet when you ride your bike, scooter, or a skateboard. A helmet will help to keep your head and brain safe if you fall. • The helmet should fit- low on your forehead 2 fingers above your eyebrows straps should make a V under each ear TRANSPORTATION SAFETY

  5. If you have younger brothers or sisters or friends in the car, make sure someone gets them out of the car when everyone else gets out. • Never play in the car. When it’s time to get out of the car, you need to go on and get out. Don’t get back in the car just to play. It gets really, really hot in a car, even if it’s in the shade. TRANSPORTATION SAFETY
