  2. Notes • Adverb clauses tell how, when, where, why, and under what condition things are or were done. Adverb clauses begin with subordinating conjunctions. *see AAWWUBBIS handout • These clauses can be called adverbial clauses, subordinate clauses, or dependent clauses. • Since adverb clauses aren’t sentences by themselves, they can be used as openers, interrupters, or closers.
