    2. FALL 2011 UPDATE! SELECT CLASSES IN ALL DEPARTMENTS ARE USING OUR NEW WEB-BASED GRADEBOOK

    4. Log in to the Students Account

    5. Access ISIS (ISIS = Integrated Student Information System) On the left-hand side of screen : Select Account Select Applications On the right hand side of the screen Click the Login button

    6. Enter Report Card View A screen containing the students picture will appear. On this screen: Click on the Grades menu Select Report Card.

    7. In Report Card view, click on the blue course code for each class on the left side of the screen, e.g., FS3R, H1$N.

    8. It is Bayside High School Policy that student grades should be derived as follows in all subject areas: General Education 80% CONTENT 20% EFFORT Instructional Support Services (ISS) and/or English Language Learner (ELL) Considerations 70% CONTENT 30% EFFORT

    9. The INSTANT a teacher updates his/her gradebook, the new grades will be IMMEDIATELY VISIBLE. Test and assignment scores averaged toward the overall grade appear out of 100.

    10. The students OVERALL course grade is CUMULATIVE. This means that it does NOT start over every marking period.

    11. CONTENT = a students demonstration of knowledge and skills How well has the student mastered the information and skills the course requires? Derived from grades on tests, quizzes, projects, essays, labs, performances, and homework/classwork.

    12. EFFORT is the average of: EVIDENCE OF EFFORT= % of assignments submitted, regardless of the grade received on those tasks. e.g., 7 out of 10 assignments = 70% PARTICIPATION = level of interest, attention, and engagement in class. 45 is the lowest possible Participation grade.

    13. Here, 80% of the course grade comes from CONTENT, i.e., the students demonstration of knowledge and skill mastery. 20% of the course grade comes from EFFORT.

    14. Here, the teacher has determined that 32 of the 80 CONTENT points will come from Quizzes and 48 will come from Tests. (86 for CONTENT * .80) + (82.59 for EFFORTT * .20) = 85.32 OVERALL

    15. This student was awarded an 80 for participation during the first marking period, per the uniform participation rubric.

    16. This student submitted 10 out of 10 quizzes, 3 out of 3 tests, and 10 out of 14 homework assignments. He completed 85.2% (23 out of 27) of the tasks he was expected to complete.

    17. This student scored 97, 85, and 70 on her tests. Her test average is an 84.00.

    18. Score Comparison Graph BY CLICKING ON SCORE #5 (75) in this category, a graph appears so the student can see the class average for Test #5, as well as how his score compared to rest of the class scores on Test #5.

    19. Numerical HW grades count towards BOTH CONTENT and EFFORT. Yes/No grades count towards EFFORT ONLY. * indicates that the grade will not be averaged. - indicates that the student has been excused from the assignment without penalty.
