Who lives there? • In Burkina Faso live mainly 2 big ethnic groups (divided according to the language): • a) Voltaic Group or “Gur” to which belongs: Mossi - Gourmantché- Gourounsi – Sénoufo - Bobo o Lobi. • b) Mandè group to which belongs: Mandé – Samo – Marko .

The economy of the country • It is based mainly on agricolture and farming. • a) Agricolture: mainly sogo, mais, nuts, rice and cotton b) Farming: Concentrated on cow and sheep farming.
Ouagadougou • Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso, the biggest city of the country, with a cultural, economic and administrative centre. • The city is located approximately in the center of the country (12,4° N 1,5° O). The climate is rather hot, like the sudanese-saharan area: rainings do not exceed 750mm per year. • 1273.355 citizens
