  2. First aid saves lives • In the previous lesson we talked about the simple things we can do to help somebody who is very sick. • For example, if someone is What is sick and has a high fever; what is the simple thing you can help with?

  3. Helping someone with fever • First, you can help him to drink plenty of water, put a cloth dipped in cold water on his forehead, and tell him to go to see a doctor.

  4. Bee stings • Bee and wasp stings can be very dangerous. • If a person becomes dizzy or starts to have difficulty breathing, then he should go to the hospital immediately.

  5. Help for Bee stings • Wash the area with soap and water. • If a stinger is still there, first • ask an adult to remove it • by scraping with his fingernail or a card, without squeezing, then put some ice on the sting and go see a doctor for medicine.

  6. Severe itching • If someone starts to itch and his body becomes swollen after eating, he needs to see a doctor. • The doctor will tell him if there are foods he should not eat. Some people are allergic to nuts, eggs, chocolate, fish or milk.

  7. Don’t let bed bugs bite • Sometimes itching happens in the night and a person can not sleep well. In the morning he might see scratch marks on his body. • That could mean that bed bugs and mites are living under the sheet or mattress.

  8. Help with bed bugs • What can you do? Ask an adult to wash your bed sheets with hot water and let them dry in the sun, Take a hot bath every day. A doctor can give some medicine if it is needed.
