Pre-writing Answers • Topic: • What kind of climate does the Inner Canyon have? • Topic Sentence: • The Inner Canyon has a desert climate. • Three (3) Details: • Receives less than 16 inches of rain per year • The temperature at the bottom exceeds the temperature at the top by 35º F • Vegetation is similar to the vegetation found in southwestern U.S. deserts

  4. Sample Response: The Inner Canyon has a desert climate. For instance, it receives less than 16 inches of precipitation on average. The temperature at the bottom of the Inner Canyon exceeds the temperature at the top by 35º F. In addition, the vegetation found in the Inner Canyon is similar to that found in the deserts of the southwestern United States. All of these traits distinguish the Inner Canyon as having a desert climate.

After he is finished working, Manager Ron tells Adrian that he did a good job, and Adrian says that he cannot wait to come to work again.
