Ideas to Increase Fellow Nominations • Increase “feeder pool” of Senior Members • Announce new SSCS Senior Members quarterly in Magazine and e-mail blast • Include short note on process for becoming Senior Member in same articles • Publicize Senior Member process in Chapters • Publicize March due date for Fellow nominations • Include in November magazine • Include in September e-mail blast • Include short note on process for nominating Fellows in same articles; provide link to SSCS Fellow list. • Publicize Fellow process in Chapters in Fall of each year

  4. SSCS Predoctoral Achievement Award • We have now formally initiated this program • Replaces $25K Predoctoral Fellowship • Several awards will be granted; probably 3-5 this year • Criteria are basically the same: • Academic record and promise • Quality of publications • A graduate study program well matched to SSCS • Membership in SSCS • Award includes $1000 honorarium plus ISSCC hotel and travel expenses; ISSCC registration fee is waived. • Application period is Sep 1 to Oct 15, 2011 • Recipients will be notified by Nov 30, 2011. Propose to publicize at ISSCC Awards Session (one slide for all). • Application information on SSCS web site.
