  3. Introduction • Teens commit suicide is very common nowadays • To know more about the causes of teen suicide • To study the consequences of teen suicide PSHE

What is teen suicide? • From age 13~19 • A self destruction behavior • Classified into three categories *The egoistic suicide *Anomic suicide *Fatalistic suicide • Various reasons for teens suicide (mostly related to school and family) • Most popular methods to commit suicide *take drugs (sleeping pills) *anodyne PSHE

  6. What are the causesof teen suicide? Mainly caused by three factors • Teens themselves • always depressed, lack confidence • easily affected by past experience • can’t stand for the mental pains PSHE

  7. What are the causes of teen suicide • Family factors • Having bad relationship with parents • Punished by parents • Draw parents ‘ attention • Escape from strict parents • Feel unsafe in the family PSHE

Who can help teenagers Things can be done by parents: • Listen to their children’s problems patiently • Understand their feelings and give them hope • Cultivate the ability of their children in solving problems bravely and positively • Establish a friendly and trustful relationship with their children

  13. Things can be done by school • Reduce teacher-student-ratio • Provide more training to teachers • Give extra care and guidance • Help students feel easy to talk about their problems • Things can be done by teenagers themselves • Suggest teenagers some ways to prevent suicide

  14. conclusion Teenagers should: • think positively • Have more confidence in doing things • Seek help from parents, friends, teachers, etc when facing any difficulties

Difficulties and limitation Difficulties: • Can’t find any information about research question 3 • Since we can’t contact each other during Easter holiday, so we did the progress was a little behind schedule • We have no idea about the reflection section. Reflection : • After doing the project of teen suicide, we assured that it is very serious in HK • All the members are co-operated well and willing to express their opinion • We all have fun in this project
