  3. Application For each question from 21-25, complete Stem Night 4.

THIS IS NEW SO PLEASE DO IT THIS WAY NOT HOW IT IS ON THE HALF SHEET • If you got the question wrong, complete stem night 4 for your new answer, but you DO NOT have to complete stem night 4 for your original answer. All you have to do for your original answer it look up the definition • Example: • Question 21: The government avoided a war by successfully resolving the issues through_________. I think diplomacy means to settle something peacefully because diplo means double and the sentence talks about two governments resolving an issue. And when governments resolve issues, they mostly do it peacefully. • Definitions • New Answer: Diplomacy: the conduct by government officials of negotiations and other relations between nations. • Original Answer: Abdication: to give up or renounce (authority, duties, an office, etc.)

And a visitor would not feel welcome if the songs did not flow together in a pleasing manner.

Cold, pale skin: Emia means blood and if you have no blood in your body, your skin turns pale and your body gets cold. • 3. And yet, nothing remains: Hum means Earth so when someone dies, there is nothing remains of them on Earth

Evaluation • For 29 and 30, Find the correct answer and rewrite your justification in complete sentence and make sure you break down your stems in your justification. • Chlorophyl erythrocyte cyanide permease • I think the answer is permease because the other three all have a relation to colors: chloro meaning green, erthro meaning red, and cyan meaning blue, but permease is referring to a function in the cody.

T F An exodus of animals would not occur in areas of deforestation. • I think the answer is false because exodus means to leave because the stem ex means out and in the sentence it talks about animals leaving because of deforestation. And the stem de means down so the forest went down. So when a forest goes down, animals leave or “get out,” causing an “exodus.”

  12. Analysis • For every Analogy you missed, write the definition of each word in that analogy. Then use your knowledge of stems and the word’s definition to solve for the correct answer. You will have 10 definitions, for one analogy • Example • albino: albinism:: • melodrama: cubism • red hair: erythrism • exodus: influx • Define each word, then figure out the answer.
