  2. Tell me…. • Where did you get the spark that ignited your interest in engineering? • Do you remember the ‘moment’ where you began to see clarity in your life profession? • Did you enter a science fair as a child?

  3. President Obama during the State of the Union speech on Tuesday "We need to teach our kids that it’s not just the winner of the Super Bowl who deserves to be celebrated, but the winner of the Science Fair." • You are a vital link in celebrating the winner of our science fair!

  4. Who is the Mastodon Fair? • Largest art and science Fair in the US • ~3000 K-12 students in public, private and home schools (800+ science) • Funded 100% by donations ($118,000 budget) • Operated by 350 volunteers and 1 part-time employee • 7 day Fair (Fair: 3 days Setup/take down) • 501 (c)3 organization – 32 years old! • Over $35,000 in prizes, awards, trips and scholarships awarded.

  5. Where? • Jefferson College Field House, Hillsboro MO. • Three floors of the Field House used to house the exhibits.

  6. Spark New Engineers By Passing It On… • Be a • Judge – Wed. March 16, 1 pm – 8 pm • Volunteer - (computer help, SQL programming!) • Donor • Mentor – online or at work sessions • Coach –teachers/students • Activity room – March 18, 2011 5-7 pm

  7. What we do… Mission: Inspire art and science excellence in K-12 grade students through workshops, mentoring and competitions.
