  2. The Course Of The Ganges • The river starts in the Himalayas. • It passes through Haridwar, Kanpur, Allahabad, Malda, Mirzapur, Varanas, Patna and Bhagalpur. • The tributaries that joins the Ganges are:Kosi, Son, Gandak, Ghagha.

  3. It has a podgy body, extra-long sharp-toothed beak, and it is almost completely blind! It is one of few river dolphins and is highly endangered. Ganges Dolphin Other names for the Ganges dolphin are: Susu, blind dolphin and side swimming dolphin Click on the picture to find out more info!! They swim on their side as a way to catch their prey.

  4. Religous Facts • Hindus think the Ganges is a holy river. • Hindus cast the ashes of their dead in the river believing that the ashes will be sent to the afterlife. • Some of the Hindu religious festivals are held around the Ganges river.
