Qin Shi Huang Di ended the Warring States period, unified China, reformed government, enforced harsh Legalist control, created a Bureaucracy, established laws and standards, and initiated monumental building projects, leading to economic growth. His death weakened the empire, sparking peasant revolts and paving the way for the Han Dynasty.

Qin Shi Huang Di ends warring states period becoming China’s 1st Emperor. • He unified China & changed government positions from hereditary to appointed= gained loyalty. • Harsh Legalist control & created a Bureaucracy (organized political structure) to bring order to China (moved rivals to capital & took weapons away). • Created standard or set laws, writing, money, & weights & measures. • Building projects, roads, irrigation, canals, Great Wall (created by taxes & forced labor) • The last two bullet points strengthened the economy, communication, movement, & protection. • Qin Shi Huang Di dies=empire weakens & peasants revolt lead to their fall & begins the Han Dynasty.
