Introduction Amelia Earhart was born on 24 July 1897 in Atchison Kansas. in 1932 when she became the first woman--and second person--to fly solo across the Atlantic. In January 1935 Earhart became the first person to fly solo across the Pacific Ocean from Honolulu to Oakland, California. On March 17, 1937 she flew from Oakland, California to Honolulu, Hawaii. four months later her plane disappeared near Hawaii. Amelia was a famous person in all of America. she was amazing woman at that time.
Time line • 1897- Amelia Mary Earhart was born in Kansas, America on July 24. • 1917- Amelia worked as a nurse in world war 1 • 1920- she flew in a plane for the first time. • 1921- Amelia bought her first plane- “the kinner airster”. • 1924- she sold the plane. • 1928- Amelia bought another plane who called “the avro avian”. She was the first woman to fly across America. • 1930- she set the woman’s world record for flying at 291.2 kilometers per hour. • `1931- amelia married george palmer putnam. • 1932- she wrote her first book, “the fun of it”. In the same year she became the first woman to fly across the atlantic ocean on her own. • 1935- she was the first person to fly alone across the pacific ocean. • 1937- she started her flight around the world in California. Her plane disappeared near hawaii.she was never found.
