  4. Operations • Very strong focus on compliance in pharma industry • “GMP” (good manufacturing practices) essential in ensuring: • S (strength) • I (identity) • S (safety) • P (purity) • Q (quality)for all drug products being produced

SHE • SHE considerations integrated into all Operations processes • SHE precautions statements in all SOPs • Customized SHE training curricula set for all Ops employees (core job-specific and “special” training) • Proactive SHE review as part of Change Control • SHE risk assessment for all new projects, processes • SHE on agenda of all Operations Review Meetings .

Other Drivers AstraZeneca Global SHE Policy • “AstraZeneca to be amongst the industry leaders in SHE”… • Audit finding: SHE is a line management responsibility that requires greater people manager engagement (particularly outside Operations) AstraZeneca Canada • Provision of a safe work environment directly aligned with AZC “mission and values” • People managers expected to demonstrate “leadership” in all business aspects including those related to SHE • Code of Conduct compliance, including SHE aspects for all employees Due diligence • Specific responsibilities apply to people managers for ensuring a safe workplace for their employees regardless of where they work

Mixed Success to Date • Uptake of core and manager SHE training within Non-Operations dependent on engagement of line manager/director • Driver Safety Training: excellent uptake by Sales, >85% complete • Increase in proactive calls for risk assessments/advice • Several requests for “dedicated” SHE training sessions • Upcoming “Integrated SHE/Security Audit” of Commercial side of business in September 2008 may help to garner additional interest and uptake in SHE training over balance of year
