Directions for adding and subtracting integers on a number line… • Start on the…first number in the expression. • To know which way to face on the number line look at the…sign of the second number in the expression. • If it is positive face right because the positives are to the right on the number line. • If it is negative face left because the negatives are to the left on the number line. • To move just remember: • If you are adding…move forward. • If you are subtracting…move backward.
