  5. Creating An Account Unique Email Account Required. Use email addresses like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, etc.

  6. Creating An Account – Screen 1 Validation check will determine if the username is already used and will make suggestions for alternate Usernames.

Selecting The 2015-2016 Online Application • “Freshman Instructions” and “Transfer Instructions” can be found at the top of the Undergraduate Online Application page • Instructions contain helpful information for first time freshman and transfer students with filling out the online application

  17. Application Manager • Select campus and start a new application. • View/Edit online applications started but not submitted. • View online applications already submitted.

  18. Application Manager • Select a school and then click “start new application” to begin filling out the application.

  19. Completing The 2015-16 Online Application • Fall 2015-16 Applications are open as of October 1, 2014 • All screens must be completed in order to submit your application • Payment type must be selected • Be sure to check Application Filing Status report to learn when campuses close

  20. Campus Instruction Screen • Contains campus specific information • Applicants should read through the page for application requirements, procedures and potential deadlines

  21. Campus Instruction Screen • Must scroll to the bottom of the page to begin the application • Select the “Begin Undergraduate Application” button to start an application

  22. Help Video • Launches recorded video of the screen currently being viewed • Can utilize the right hand navigation menu to view other videos for other screens

Side Menu Bar • Application typically consists of 13 screens • Complete each screen in chronological order (Best Practice) • Green checkmarks designate screens that have been completed • System will validate all required fields are filled out after you click on “Save and Continue” • Skip to Another Screen – Will not save current screen’s data! Be sure to first click “Save This Screen” before skipping to another screen • Save This Screen – Saves the information already populated in the screen applicant is working in

  24. Side Menu Bar • First Time Freshmen choosing the Entry Status of “Graduating high school senior with no college credit” will not be required to fill out the following screens and therefore will be grayed out. • 7 - College Information • 10 - College Courses

  26. Side Menu Bar • Lower Division Transfer students with 59.5 semester/89.5 quarter units and less will have access to all screens. There are no conditions for LDT students that will exclude them from any screens.

  27. Side Menu Bar • Upper Division Transfer students with more than 60 semester/90 quarter units will not be required to fill out the following screens, and therefore will be grayed out. • 8 – High School Preparation 1 • 9 – High School Preparation 2

  28. Save and Continue • After completing each screen, selecting “save and continue” at the bottom of the page will save the entries made on the form and move the applicant to the next screen.

  34. Name and Address – Screen 2 • Applicants have the ability to auto populate the Permanent Address field with the Current Mailing Address by using the link.

  36. Personal Information – Screen 3 • Social Security Number • California Statewide Student ID (SSID)Date of Birth • Foster youth, Orphan, Ward of the court • Place of Birth • Citizenship

  37. Personal Information – Screen 3 • Social Security number is not required, however it does need to be added if you are applying for financial aid.

  38. Personal Information – Screen 3 • Enter your Date of birth, Place of Birth, and Citizenship.

  39. Personal Information – Screen 3 • Choosing Foreign country will display a new field asking when the applicant moved to the US.

  40. Personal Information – Screen 3 • Permanent Residence • Live within California • Live outside of California • Live in another country • Family Education, Income, and Size Information • Information to determine EOP eligibility • Must fill out if applying for EOP or for the Fee Waiver

  41. Personal Information – Screen 3 • The Family Education, Income and Size Information are optional questions. However this information is required if filing for EOP or Fee Waiver.

  42. Personal Information – Screen 3 • Graduating High School seniors are typically Dependent Students and will fill out the Dependent Students Only section.

  43. California State Residency Information – Screen 4 • Residency Status • Responses required for preliminary assessment of residency status for admission and tuition purposes • Campus may request additional information prior to making a final residence determination

  44. Demographic Information – Screen 5 • Ethnic and racial information must be collected however it does not affect any application for admission.

  45. Demographic Information – Screen 5 • Question 1 - Selecting “yes” will require an additional question to be answered • Question 2 - Decline to state / none of the above – please select only one, if applicable. Selecting both will produce an invalid error message

  47. Demographic Information – Screen 5 Introductory text, questions and pull down menu options for U.S. Military Information have been updated to help identify military status.

  48. Demographic Information – Screen 5 Using the highlighted link will populate the mailing address if the applicant information is the same. Applicants can include the parent/guardian in campus communications by checking the box at the bottom.

  49. High School Information – Screen 6 • Select “Add A High School” to add your current or last high school attended.
