ANTIDIURETIC HORMONE. ADH is a hormone that controls the reabsorption of water molecules in the collecting tubules of the kidneys by affecting the tissue's permeability. It also increases arterial blood pressure. It is synthesized in the hypothalamus and stored in the posterior pituitary.

ANTIDIURETIC HORMONE • ADH is a hormone that controls the reabsorption of water molecules in the collecting tubules of the kidneys by affecting the tissue's permeability. • It also increases arterial blood pressure. • It is synthesized in the hypothalamus and stored in the posterior pituitary.

  2. ALDOSTERONE • Aldosterone is produced in the adrenal cortex. • When blood volume is low, aldosterone promotes reabsorption of water in the distal tubules of the kidney. • This leads to increased blood volume and pressure.
