  2. WHAT IS PAVEMENT CRACK SEALING? Crack sealing is the process of addressing the current cracks on an asphalt surface. Leaving cracks unattended is one of the most detrimental mistakes when it comes to prolonging the lifespan of the asphalt. Cracks in the asphalt allow for water and dirt to penetrate the surface, causing the cracks to expand and the asphalt to break. The pavement cracks must be cleaned of any loose debris and vegetation before applying the crack sealer. This ensures that enough sealant is applied to create an air tight seal between the pavement. If the crack is not properly cleaned beforehand, the hot rubberized sealant will not bond to the asphalt.

  3. OUR CRACK SEALING PROCESS The eligible pavement cracks for a sealant application are addressed and measured. The cracks are then thoroughly cleaned using a razor machine or crack router. Gas-powered backpack blowers are then used to clear all the loosened dirt and debris. Mobile crack sealant kettles are used to apply the hot rubberized crack sealer at a temperature of 350*C. Once the crack sealant has been applied it is left to dry for 15 minutes. After the dry time, the freshly sealed cracks are ready for vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

This allows for the pavement surface to last longer. Sealing pavement cracks is a relatively inexpensive maintenance service as opposed to replacing the asphalt. Routinely sealing the cracks will keep the asphalt from deteriorating to a point where a costly repave is required. Leaving cracks unattended can cause the business front to appear damaged and unsightly. Usually, weeds start to grow from within the cracks. Having the cracks sealed, usually accompanied with line painting and a sealcoat application, will add much needed curb appeal to the business front.
