  3. Biography • Rick Riordan was born June 5, 1964 in Texas. He lives with his wife and two kids Haley and Patrick. Rick went to Saint Mary Hall school. He has won many awards such as three national awards, and children choice awards for author of the year. Rick still lives in Texas.

  5. Throne of Fire • The book I’m reading is Throne of Fire. The genre of this book is mystery. The setting mainly takes place in Brooklyn, New York in present time. The characters of this book are Sadie, Carter, Walt, Amos, Bast, and many gods and goddesses’. The plot is Sadie and Carter are on a mission to get the book of Ra to save the world but gods and goddesses’ are out to stop their quest. The conclusion is Sadie and Carter got the Book of Ra and defeated Desjardins. Now they have to defeat Apophis. My critique on this book is I really like it. It always keeps you wanting to read more, and you never know what’s going to happen.

  6. The Lightning Thief • The genre of the story is mystery. The setting is at camp Half-Blood and up state New York. Some of the characters in the story are Percy’s mom, his dad AKA Poseidon and his step dad Gaby. The plot of the story is Percy has to stop one of the largest wars in history by returning the master bolt of Zeus and the realm of Hades. As he is going on his quest he crosses Ares (god of war) Ares frames Percy for stealing the master bolt by putting it in his back pack. The book ends by Percy returning the realm and the bolt. He goes back to camp and packs his things and goes home. My opinion of the book is that I really liked it because it draws you in and you fell like your there.

Compare and contrast Same Different • In The Throne Of Fire Sadie and Carter use magic unlike The Lightning Thief where they use powers. • In The Throne Of Fire they have a pet but in The Lightning Thief they do not. • In The Throne Of Fire the main characters are brother and sister but in The Lightning Thief he is an only child. • Both have gods/goddesses. • The Throne Of Fire takes place in New York same as the Lightning Thief . • The Lightning Thief's main characters is a teen just like The Throne of Fire’s main characters.
