At this stage

IRLH Project Development of Gantt Chart • Step 4 - Create Work Package Tasks • Now insert task durations and interdependencies Note: Work Package Tasks can be copied from the Work Package Description Summary Sheets Durations are the TOTAL length of time it will take to do the task and can be fixed or variable. Example: Preparing a meal. Time taken to cook in the oven is fixed, whereas the time taken to prepare the meat and veg, set the table, etc is dependent of the number of people available

  11. IRLH Project Compiling Costs • Costs are compiled ‘bottom-up’ using the Work Package as the smallest entity • 3 Cost elements are defined (Manpower, Article 7 and Purchases) BUT there can be any number and any definition • Spreadsheet automatically ‘rolls-up’ costs through WBS • The number of Man-days is the time the man will spend on the task
