RC Region Characteristic Impedance • Zc(⍵)=(R/(j⍵C))1/2 Transfer Function (matched terminator) • G(⍵)=exp(–(j⍵RC)1/2z) Step Response • InvF(1/j⍵ exp(-(j⍵RC)1/2z)=u(t) erfc(1/2 kt-1/2), where k=(RC)1/2z
RC Region • RC network has no resonance (monotonic changes) • Elmore delay is derived from the concept of moments.
LC Region (R < ⍵L) • Watch out the wave phenomenon • There are reflection and resonance • Add terminators to dissipate the oscillation
