For example; let’s say our annual field day is the next upcoming event. Until the next meeting after the event, every cadet on staff is working to get field day ready! Being a part of staff is a great way to learn and earn leadership!

  10. Cadet Promotion Policy 12.1 Cadet enlisted promotions are year-in-school and merit driven. Promotions fall into two categories: permanent rank and temporary rank. All promotions are the discretion of the SASI. 12.2Starting Cadet Ranks: Freshmen- Airman (l stripe) Sophomore- Airman first class (2 stripes) Junior- Senior Airman (3 Stripes) Senior- Staff Sergeant (4 Stripes) It should be noted that with the approval of the SASI, cadets may hold a higher enlisted rank based on the staff position held Within the AFJROTC organization. However, when the position is vacated, and no other staff position is taken, then this cadet must revert back to the appropriate enlisted rank based on his/her time in school. 12.3 Based upon merit (behaving), each student would earn permanent rank status at the beginning of the third trimester of each school year. These promotions are what is known as “enlisted progression," and cadets have the opportunities to progress upwards to the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Should a cadet receive an Out-Of-School Suspension, that cadet will return to the rank of Airman Basic and stay at that rank for the entire trimester. 12.4 Cadet Officer Promotions are temporary rank based upon positions held within the AFJROTC organizations. Freshmen-2nd Lieutenant Sophomore-1st Lieutenant Junior-Captain Senior-Major Ranks will only change at the discretion of the SASI. However, should a cadet vacate his/her staff position, then that cadet must revert to their permanent enlisted rank, unless officer status has been held for two or more trimester, which at that time, the SASI may approve permanent officer status for those cadets. Seniors are allowed to maintain the highest rank they ever held within the organizations.

  25. Uniqueness of MI-861 Our unit is unlike any other. We have many unique qualities which makes our program different. 26. Physical Education Objective: To promote and motivate cadets in living healthy, active lifestyles. Our PT/Wellness program provides leadership opportunities, builds esprit de corps, and increases cadet confidence. Our PT is primarily a student led operation. While following Air Force standards, the cadets will: • Decide what will take place in the weekly activity • Upkeep the continuity folder • Create new ideas to increase physical fitness • Collect PT consent forms and input them into CIMS This year we have implemented a Cadet Challenge. This after school activity meets on Monday’s and Wednesday’s after school for about an hour, and focuses on Air Force regulated workouts. Starting in the 2nd trimester we will choose our top preforming cadets and bring them to Physical Fitness Meets. Here they will compete among other JROTC units to “bring home the trophy.”
