Weekly Starter and Review Activities: Math Problems and Test Preparation

  2. Tues., Aug. 30, 2011 • Come in quietly, find your seat, be seated and begin starter. You will have 10 minutes after the tardy bell rings to complete. • One person earns $48,000/year, another person earns $3750/month. How much more does the 1st person earn than the 2nd? • Which is the better value: a 12-oz. jar of honey for $2.25 or an 18-oz. jar for $3.24? • Pens are bought at $0.95/doz. & sold in groups of 4 for$2.25. Find the profit on 15 doz. pens. • If you spend $4.79, in how many ways can you receive change from a $5 bill? • A farmer had 17 sheep. All but 12 died. How many sheep does the farmer have left?

You will have 10 minutes after the tardy bell rings to complete. • TB pg. 21/17 – 27 odd • Must write problems and show ALL work to receive credit for assignment. • Bathroom break will be taken after Starter time.

  5. Fri., Sept. 02, 2011 • Come in quietly, find your seat, be seated and begin starter. You will have 10 minutes after the tardy bell rings to complete. • Prepare for test. You will need at least 2 sheets of paper, pencil, and crib sheet. • Calculator may be used for the first 15 minutes of the test. • Bathroom break will be taken after Starter time.
