Los verbos -CAR -GAR -ZAR. –CAR, -GAR, -ZAR. Regular verbs that end in –car, -gar, - zar have a spelling change in the YO form of the preterite so that the sound of the verb stem remains the same. –CAR, -GAR, -ZAR. If you try taking the verb “ sacar ” and adding just an é to the root:

  2. –CAR, -GAR, -ZAR Regular verbs that end in –car, -gar, -zar have a spelling change in the YO form of the preterite so that the sound of the verb stem remains the same.

  3. –CAR, -GAR, -ZAR If you try taking the verb “sacar” and adding just an é to the root: • You get “sacé” which in Spanish would be pronounced “sah-say.” • Not the correct sound if the verb you start with is saCAR.
