  1. Perfect Grace, Perfect Obedience

  2. Changing Religion? • Have you ever heard: “Jesus is going to make His plan for me work”? • Or: “I’ve already accepted Jesus, doesn’t that get me into heaven?” • Or how about this one: “Jesus taught us to accept all people as they are.” • And my all time favorite: “If Jesus wanted us to follow the whole bible, we should be killing a lot of sinners according to the Old Testament.”

  3. Can Faith Change? • Heb 10:1-4 ~ The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins.It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. • Heb 10:9-10 ~ He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

  4. How Do You Perfect Perfection? • Heb 10:12-14 ~ But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. • Heb 10:19-22 ~ Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God,let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

  5. We Draw Closer Through Obedience • Heb 10:24-25 ~ And let us consider how we may (1)spur one another on toward love and good deeds, (2)not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, (3)but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. • Heb 10:26-29 ~ If we (4)deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. (5)How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

  6. Perfected Holy Bride • Heb 10:35-39 ~ So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to (1)persevere so that when you have (2)done the will of God, you will (3)receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, “He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. • Until we truly fall in love with Jesus Christ, our journey toward holy perfection as His bride will never begin.

  7. Benediction May the peace of God which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord; and may the blessings of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be yours now and forever. Amen.
